There is new version of UI Verify 2.0 this is little better than existing 1.0. Yesterday we tried on XP it was able to find UI element which was not recognized by version 1.0
Though I have experienced some problem in Win7 (that I guess can be suppressed (Menu: Tests->Filter Known Problems), try it hope it will give good control over finding UI elements.
If you have not tried this version, try it.
